When you visit any Dominican household, you will always be offered a small cup of black coffee, a cafecito.

Dominican cafecito is traditionally brewed strong and served sweet with Dominican brown sugar.

Coffee is a social stimulus that brings people together to share ideas and stories, and when people come together, a community is formed and friends are made.

About this coffee

We are proud to bring you this delicious Caribbean coffee. It is grown in the mountainous region of the Dominican Republic in a climate of “perpetual Spring”, and roasted in Middlebury, Vermont. The farmers work hard to grow their coffee organically under natural shade. It comes from over 100 farms in the communities of Los Marranitos, Los Dajaos, and El Dulce. It is cultivated and harvested by hand, and you will taste the quality in your cup.

We support the farmer

We believe it is our responsibility to support farmers and their farm communities by paying an additional social and environmental premium for the high quality organic coffee they grow for us.

Café Tostado para Amigos

We are Coffee Roasted for Friends®. We try to be a friend to the farmers, and we cherish their friendship in return. When we visit, we share meals and stories, and of course, a cafecito.
